The short answer
For Canva client approval, paste the design link into the Embedded tools app of an XTablo project. The preview shows up in the client portal, and your client comments, then approves in XTablo. XTablo is compatible with Canva through the share link, with no sync and no editing from XTablo.

What is Canva + XTablo good for at an agency?
Plenty of agencies and freelancers build their visuals in Canva: posts, carousels, presentations, brand kits. The trap comes at approval: the client gets a link, replies on WhatsApp, and nobody knows which version is the right one.
XTablo puts the design inside the client’s project. You keep creating in Canva, and you show the work, collect feedback and get approval in a space under your logo.
How do you share a Canva design with a client, step by step?
It takes a few moves, first in Canva, then in XTablo.
- In Canva, prepare the design’s view-only share link.
- Copy the link.
- In XTablo, open the client’s project.
- Open the Embedded tools app and paste the link.
- The preview appears in the project and loads on click.
- Let your client know: they’ll find the design in their portal.
How do you get a Canva design approved by a client?
Your client opens their portal, looks at the preview, writes feedback as comments, then approves the deliverable in one click. The approval is recorded in XTablo (deliverable approval), not in Canva.
For social media content, you can also track posts in the content calendar, where the client comments on each post. XTablo doesn’t publish to social networks: you schedule approved posts in your usual tool. See also our social media approval tool.
What does your client see?
A workspace with your logo, your colors and your name, opened from a link with no account to create (the client portal). They see the design preview in the projects you show them, and never your internal workings.
They can install the portal on their phone from the browser and approve from the couch (mobile app).
Which teams is it useful for?
Social media agencies and content agencies that deliver visuals and carousels, design agencies, and coaches who share training materials.
What are the limits of Canva in XTablo?
This connection is deliberately simple: it relies on a link.
- Preview only: no sync, no editing from XTablo.
- Loads on click: the preview appears when someone opens it.
- Sharing is set in Canva: if the link isn’t viewable, the preview won’t display.
- Approval happens in XTablo, not in Canva comments.
