The short answer
XTablo is compatible with WhatsApp in beta: from the Agency plan up, you link a conversation or group to a project by scanning a QR code, and your team replies from XTablo. If you’d rather skip the beta: replace the WhatsApp group with the project discussion, which your client opens from their portal with no account to create.

What is WhatsApp for in an agency workflow with XTablo?
Lots of clients text on WhatsApp because it’s easy. The cost for you is well known: work and personal life blur together, files get lost, and nobody knows what was decided. When a teammate takes over, they have to scroll back through 400 messages.
XTablo goes after two things: filing the history in the right project so the whole team can find it, and giving the client a cleaner place to talk, the project discussion.
Is the WhatsApp integration available?
It’s in beta. It’s available from the Agency plan up (Agency and Business, not Freelance). You link it yourself by scanning a QR code, like WhatsApp Web, with no request to support. Each conversation or group links to a project, and your team replies from XTablo (text and files). Your clients have nothing to install. The connection goes through a provider, Unipile, and is not an official Meta connection.
We are not giving an end date for the beta. To try it, link your first number from a project.
How do you make WhatsApp work with XTablo, step by step?
Option A, the beta: if you’re on the Agency plan, scan the QR code from a project. The relevant conversations are then linked to the project and your team can read and reply.
Option B, without the beta, which works today for everyone: replace the WhatsApp group with the project discussion. Create the project, invite your client, then tell them: “Write to me here, everything’s in one place.” They open their link, write, attach files, and your team sees everything.
The two options combine: you file the existing history with the beta and gradually move clients to the project discussion.
What does your client see in their portal?
They see the project discussion, with your logo, and no account to create. They can also follow progress, find their files and approve deliverables in one click. On their phone, they install the portal like an app from the browser.
They don’t see your team’s internal conversations. You choose what’s visible project by project. See the client portal.
Which agencies get the most out of the WhatsApp integration?
Social media agencies, which get feedback at all hours, coaches, who talk with their clients constantly, and video editing agencies, where version feedback arrives in a jumble, benefit the most.
What are the limits?
- Beta: things may still change, and the connection is not official.
- Agency plan and up: not available on Freelance.
- No date announced for a wider rollout.
- This is not an official WhatsApp integration: XTablo is compatible with WhatsApp, with no partnership.
